Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and dedicated Licensed Customs Broker to join our team. In this role, you will manage and oversee the customs process, ensuring compliance with customs laws and regulations. You will act as an intermediary between importers/exporters and the customs department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process documentation: Handle import and export documentation in accordance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
• Client advisory: Advise clients on shipping requirements, customs matters, duties, and import/export restrictions.
• Customs clearance: Clear shipments through customs and ensure their delivery to the final destination.
• Regulatory updates: Stay updated on changes in import/export laws and regulations by reading current literature, attending meetings or seminars, and conferring with colleagues.
• Negotiations: Negotiate contracts, transportation charges, rates, and duties with clients or freight forwarders.
• Coordination: Coordinate with shipping agents, customs officers, and clients to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
• Consultation: Consult with customs agents to ease the passage of goods through customs processes.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Licensing:   Must be a licensed customs broker.
• Experience: Proven experience in customs brokerage or a related field.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of import/export laws and regulations.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
