This individual is responsible for streamlining and continuously improving accounting functions and working to satisfy the client's reporting needs. *****REMOTE WORK FROM HOME***** **Essential Functions** + Support Central United States region, but can work eastern or central time zone hours + Responsible for internal month end close process including preparation of journal vouchers + Research and provide explanations of variances vs. forecast / business plan / prior year and ensure billing opportunities are captured + Prepare monthly forecast and annual budget for responsible scope of cost centers + Contribute on cross-functional teams to pricing proposals for new business opportunities + Participate in various miscellaneous projects as required **Additional Responsibilities** Performs other duties as assigned **Skills and Abilities** + Be able to advise, make recommendations and make decisions related to financial and accounting aspects of the role + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Effective interpersonal skills + Good analytical and problem-solving skills + Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure + Strong planning and organizational skills + High degree of initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision + Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint required) + Ability to work under strict deadlines **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree required Accounting, Finance or related field + Master's degree preferred MBA + Four (4) years or more Accounting and/or Finance experience required + Four (4) years or more Transportation, Logistics, or equivalent industry preferred **Job Category:** Financial Analysis **Compensation Information** : The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
