Job Description

We are looking for a Housekeeping Manager to join our team at the newly opened Cirque St. Armands Beachside Hotel in Sarasota, FL. Our Housekeeping manager reports to the General Manager, and is responsible for creating a memorable guest experience by guaranteeing the cleanliness of our property, by anticipating and reacting to changing business needs, and by coordinating the activities of the housekeeping team to achieve an efficient and profitable business operation. Areas of Responsibility and Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a professional, positive, friendly demeanor with guests and fellow associates at all times.
  • Provide strong leadership that supports a team environment.
  • Ensures department is sufficiently staffed for the day and that each team member is in proper uniform.
  • Performs final inspection of hotel guest rooms prior to guest check-in.
  • Routinely inspects public areas of the hotel: lobby, hallways, public restrooms, etc.
  • Assigns daily boards and other tasks to the housekeeping team.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally utilizing 2-way radio system.
  • Checks on progress of housekeeping team regularly and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Partners with all departments to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Trains/coaches housekeeping team to ensure high quality of work and high team morale.
  • Ensures housekeeping closets, storage and service areas are organized, clean, maintained and ready for service.
  • Ensures efficient storage of housekeeping supplies for later use; maintains inventory of supplies needed for service.
  • Identifies and implements ways to operate more efficiently, cut costs and drive revenue.
  • Performs duties of other housekeeping positions as needed.
  • Ensures adherence to protocol for processing lost and found items.
  • Responds to guests with issues and requests in a timely manner.
  • Follows procedures to control labor and operating costs.
  • Handles financial, guest and associate information with care and professionalism and maintains strict confidentiality. Maintains financial and personnel records according to company standards.
  • Reviews, approves and adjusts time clock punches following company guidelines; processes payroll.
  • Attends daily and weekly meetings as required.
  • Ensures team follows all established safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in a similar supervisory/management role.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; ability to speak, understand and read English; ability to communicate effectively in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • High level of integrity to handle confidential information; to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and other employee and business information.
  • Able to multitask and manage; ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and create solutions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Ability to be responsible, dependable, punctual, adaptable.
  • Demonstrated professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 5 hours at a time over an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, twist, turn, and climb stairs regularly.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
