2nd shift position 4pm- Midnight Summary The Logistics Manager plays a vital role in supporting food production and ensuring high-quality, time-sensitive deliveries to retail partners. This position leads daily logistics operations-from raw ingredient intake to final product shipment-with a sharp focus on compliance, efficiency, and service excellence. The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with the fast-paced nature of food manufacturing and retail distribution, managing third-party logistics providers and developing strategies that align with production targets and consumer demand cycles. Key Responsibilities Oversee inbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and packaging supplies to support uninterrupted food production Manage outbound shipments of finished goods to retail locations, maintaining strict adherence to delivery schedules and product integrity Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, sales, and production teams to synchronize logistics with business goals and order fulfillment timelines Design and implement route planning strategies to optimize distribution efficiency for regional and national retail accounts Monitor daily shipment status, troubleshoot transit delays, and ensure rapid resolution with carriers and 3PL partners Track transportation spend, carrier performance, and loading/unloading efficiency; implement cost-control strategies Develop KPIs and performance metrics to identify process improvements across the logistics network Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, DOT, and temperature-sensitive shipment regulations Maintain strong relationships with 3PLs, freight brokers, and retail logistics teams Leverage logistics and ERP platforms (D365, TMS, PBI, etc.) to manage inventory flow and generate insights for decision-making Qualifications ~ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field ~5+ years of logistics experience in a food production, CPG, or manufacturing environment ~2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role with direct logistics team or carrier management ~ Proven expertise in retail delivery logistics, route optimization, and food-safe transportation ~ Proficiency with ERP and logistics tools, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, PBI, and transportation management systems ~ Excellent communication and leadership skills, with strong vendor and stakeholder negotiation experience ~ Highly analytical with a proactive problem-solving mindset ~ Comfortable navigating the fast pace of food production and shifting delivery demands Job Type: Full-time
