Adjunct Faculty

Management and Organization Theory

Department of Business Management

UMGC Stateside

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, FL

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, for the Business program. Specifically, the following course(s):

Course Schedule:

• Teach at least one day a week; Wednesdays, 11:30AM - 12:30PM

• No weekend teaching.

Management and Organization Theory (BMGT 364):

An examination of the four functions of management--planning, organizing, leading, and controlling--with emphasis on the application of management concepts and theories to achieve organizational goals. The aim is to develop strategies, goals, and objectives to enhance performance and sustainability. Topics include ethics, social responsibility, globalization, and change and innovation. 

Required Education and Experience:

• Master's degree in Business or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

• Professional experience in Business, Knowledge Management, or related fields.

• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

• This position is specifically to teach remotely.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Terminal degree in Business or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.

• Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.

• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.

• Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.

• Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
