Role: Material Efficiency Specialist

Location: Dallas, TX

Accountability: Plant Manager

Are you ready to champion waste reduction? We require a dedicated individual to manage and optimize our waste stream processes. This role involves:

• Overseeing Material Flow: Ensuring all waste stream operations are managed efficiently.
• Daily Operations: Accurate daily entry of waste data.
• Lean Improvements: Working with stakeholders to advance lean site goals and building a culture of continuous improvement.
• Waste Reduction Target: Applying lean methods to reduce waste by 5% annually.
• Engagement: Cultivating high engagement and sharing best practices.
• Project Management: Managing timelines and costs to meet strategic objectives.
• Closing Reporting Gaps: Identifying and closing gaps in waste reporting.
• Inventory Accuracy: Conducting cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.
• Data Reporting: Communicating waste data to management to drive insights and problem-solving.
• Process Improvement: Collaborating with teams to identify root causes and develop actionable plans to mitigate waste issues.
• Documentation: Clerical duties as needed throughout the site.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; further education in a related field such as technical courses or an Associate's degree is beneficial.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related domain is essential, with a preference for corrugated material experience.
• Proficient in the interpretation and generation of business and technical documents.
• Mathematical and analytical skills necessary for problem-solving and data interpretation.
• Comfortable with leading and participating in collaborative team efforts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with corrugated industries is advantageous.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• Regularly engaged in activities that require standing and walking; occasionally involves manual tasks and varying environmental conditions.
• Vision accuracy is essential for the effective performance of tasks.
• The noise level may be high, necessitating protective measures.

Performance Metrics: Key performance indicators for this role include achieving plant shrink reduction goals. Maintaining accurate waste to shrink variance is crucial for success.
