Sr. Customs Compliance Specialist TCRS4448

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Senior Customs Compliance Specialist will provide strategic guidance and ensure adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations, focusing on HTS classifications, FTZ operations, and regulatory filings while supporting broader trade compliance initiatives.

This is a hybrid position after initial onboarding and training period, based in Lafayette, IN.

Relocation assistance is available.

EXPECTATIONS

• Lead Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, maintaining inventory control and regulatory filings
• Develop and implement trade compliance procedures
• Conduct internal audits, assess risks, and implement corrective actions
• Prepare import/export documentation following regulatory record keeping requirements
• Provide shipment clearance instructions and regulatory guidance on CBP and PGA requirements
• Assign accurate HTS classification and maintain data in ERP systems
• Foster open communication with internal & external stakeholders to ensure compliance
• Strong data and analytical skills with proficient MS Excel knowledge

ESSENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, International Business, or a related field
• 8 years’ experience in trade compliance, preferably with a manufacturer
• Expert knowledge of import/export regulations; HTS, COO, Valuation, FTA, AD/CVD, etc.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
• Experience with FTZ operations and bonded transportation and storage
• Experience with trade automation software, Descartes, E2Open, SAP GTS, ACE
