Department: Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R)/Child Care Collaborative of Iowa (CCCI)
Reports to: Professional Development Supervisor
Primary Work Location: Telecommute
Pay Status: Hourly

Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Hours are subject to change based on financial and program requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education with early childhood endorsement, formal education in adult learning or at least five years of experience delivering successful adult education, at least two years of experience in developing new and revising existing training curriculum and advanced knowledge regarding curriculum design and teaching theory.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement CCR&R Training Policies & Procedures to assure statewide consistency.
- Purchase, manage, and maintain online, interactive training delivery platforms, that are capable of asynchronous and synchronous virtual trainings.
- Update and revise Child Care Center Director Training Curricula as determined by the State Network Team and HHS.
- Assure all training curricula shall contain, at a minimum, the following:
- Interactive adult learning strategies;
- Opportunity to coordinate implementation of Practice Based Coaching, content that is research or evidence based, culturally appropriate, relevant, and up-to-date with the most recent information/research available;
- Embed strategies that provide linguistic support to providers for whom English is not a first language;
- And instructions for adult educators/instructors regarding any required or recommended modifications necessary for delivery in a virtual format.
- Review and manage a Child Care Center Director Training Program budget during the pilot and implementation.
- Partner with CCR&R Agencies to recruit prospective instructors to train the Child Care Director Training Curricula.
- Recruit Child Care Center Directors representing all CCR&R Agencies to participate in the Child Care Director Program.
- Partner with Statewide Behavioral Health Coordination optional bid to recruit CCR&R Agency staff to participate in the targeted coaching sessions of the Child Care Center Director Training Program during the pilot and implementation.
- Conduct an assessment and evaluation of Child Care Center Director Training Program elements during and after the pilot and make recommended adjustments prior to implementation.
- Facilitate a statewide train the trainer event for instructors on content and delivery upon completion of the pilot.
- Partner with Statewide Behavioral Health Coordination optional bid upon completion of pilot to facilitate a statewide training event for CCR&R Agencies and Agency staff to prepare for targeted coaching session support.
- Coordinate with CCR&R Agencies and HHS to ensure the availability and successful completion rate of participants in the Child Care Center Director Training Program.
- Coordinate with Statewide Professional Development Coordination to create a training plan for implementation.
- Create Child Care Director Training Program participant manuals.
- Partner with Statewide Professional Development Coordination optional bid to facilitate print order of Child Care Director Training Program participant manuals for all CCR&R Agencies.
- Schedule trainings according to the training plan, including and not limited to: contracting with CCR&R Agency instructors, verifying technology availability and ensuring instructors are able to gain access to software platforms.
- Manage participant enrollments and attendance in HHS I-Power online database and process certificates.
- Develop, implement, and report on pre and post evaluations regarding Child Care Center Director content knowledge.
- Provide Technical Assistance to participants on which track they should register to attend.
- Track Learning Lab completion for participants for both the beginning and experienced program directors.

- Connect training participant to regional peer led, peer-to-peer mentoring, collaboration and learning opportunities.
- Develop and implement a sustainable ongoing system to support all participants.
- Complete and submit data for reports on a timely basis.
- Attend statewide, agency and community meetings as requested.

- Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation, and maintain a good driving record.
- Submit to a Motor Vehicle Records Check before hire and annually thereafter.
- Submit to a FBI National Criminal History Check upon employment and every four years thereafter.
- Submit to a Department of Human Services Criminal History and a Request for Child Abuse Information Records Check before hire and every two years thereafter.
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, crawl on the floor and occasionally stand 4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to complete job duties with reasonable accommodation.
