High Level Project Overview:
Client is looking for an Associate Tax Accountant or Tax Accountant. The position will be filled commensurate with the candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This role prepares assigned federal, state and/or local tax returns and tax payments for Non-Income taxes (property tax, excise tax, sales & use tax, utility and other non-income taxes) in compliance with applicable tax laws; Prepares assigned tax accruals, tax account reconciliations and other tax accounting functions in accordance with applicable financial or regulatory reporting requirements and associated controls. Prepares, for management review, information for financial statements and regulatory filings. Prepare annual budgets and actual to budget variances, as assigned. May assist with drafting responses for internal and external audits of financial statements, regulatory filings, internal controls and tax returns. Research basic tax, accounting, or business issues related to assigned entities or projects and prepares tax memorandums, or other communications. Contributes to special projects, as assigned. May review work of other tax personnel as experience is gained.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Years of Experience:
3+ years of tax accounting experience working in a public accounting firm in the corporate tax department
o Note: a masters degree will count towards 1 year of required experience
Education:
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Accounting
