Job Description

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Service Writer to join a leading Company located in the Earth City, MO surrounding area.

The Service Writer is responsible for support of service department operations, scheduling jobs, customer & warranty billing, and all aspects of warehousingrelated to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and storing materials, as it relates to the service department only. The Service Writer will liaise with the service manager, service technicians, parts personnel, service & sales managers, branch manager, and other Power Center departments. The ideal candidate must have a customer-oriented attitude and some service and repair knowledge and experience.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with phone traffic. 
  • Maintain and assist with service scheduling. 
  • Assist with documentation of Workshop and Field activities.  
  • Procurement of parts and materials needed for Workshop, value add, and Field.  
  • Place orders for Engines/Parts Following SAP and Field Aware guidelines.  
  • Process receiving documents for the service department. 
  • Prepare required paperwork and computer entries within company guidelines.  
  • Prepare Service deptinvoicing for both customer payment and warranty processing.
  • Collect payment for Customer Pay service jobs via credit card, check, or ACH.  
  • Process and handle the free-of-charge process for Value addedcomponents.   
  • Assist with developmentof service department documentation processes and continuous improvement.  
  • Assist walk-in customers with part sales pick-ups as needed.  
  • Be familiar with all phases of warehouse operations and retail parts operations.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Individual Contributor.  
  • Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0-10% depending on business needs. 

Basic Hiring Criteria

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or some college    
  • Familiarity with general warehouse operations.  
  • Forklift operation experience. 
  • Strong working knowledge of internal combustion engines. 
  • High competency level in computer skills, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of service & repair or warranty-related fields. 
  • Strong HD truck or equipment dealer experience. 
  • Exceptional knowledge of SAP business operating system. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with multiple departments and personalities.  
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks with a maximum degree of quality and without supervision.  
  • Innovative and desire-to-learn attitude with the ability to increase your knowledge about the business, products, markets, and customers. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through under tight timelines and pressured situations. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately solve problems. 
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.  
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. 
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety ofconcrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
