RESCAR is rapidly growing and searching for switching and track personnel to fill open positions in Chocolate Bayou, Texas.

What You'll Do:

• Read and follow switching instructions/lists indicating track assignments and cars to be switched.
• Operating Locomotive/Trackmobile between service tracks and switching areas
• Signal locomotive/Trackmobile operators to start or stop trains when coupling or uncoupling cars, using hand signals, lanterns, or two-way radio communication
• Observe signals from other crewmembers so that work activities can be coordinated
• Inspect couplings, air hoses, and handbrakes to ensure that they are securely fastened and functioning properly
• Inspect tracks, cars, and engines for defects, report service needs and make sure they are corrected before operation
• Repair/replace heavy couplings, broken knuckles, and air brake hoses using hand tools

What You'll Need:

• 1-3 years working with freight car switching or similar field
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties (such as working around heavy and moving equipment), involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity, required
• Ability to travel up to 20% out-of-state.
